About the site

The proposed development site has been identified in the draft Helston Town Framework as one of three possible sites on the outskirts of Helston that could help meet some of the town’s future housing needs.

The site, known as HX1, covers an area of approximately 15 Ha (37 acres) and is currently greenfield land.

Although it is not the preferred location identified by the Helston Town Framework Steering Group, the Partnership believe it will be required as an additional location for new homes that can deliver important long term benefits for Helston and adjacent communities.

The site is on the north-eastern edge of Helston Town located in the Parish of Wendron, immediately adjacent to Trenethick.

It is bordered to the east by Rowe’s Lane and to the west by Manor Way. The A394 runs along the southern edge of the site, where the main access to the site is being proposed via the A394/Falmouth Road roundabout.

Open countryside is situated to the north of the site and to the west of Rowe’s Lane.
